Izou is a young man that's very much driven by his passion and ambition. This passion and ambition exists for him in the form of swordsmanship with the ultimate goal of becoming the strongest swordsman. Although Izou ran away from his family to pursue his passion, he is a person that cherishes bonds especially those with his family and friends. He cares closely for them, and when needed, is willing to to great lengths to help them out. He frequently thinks of his family, but due to the circumstances when he ran away, he is unwilling to return without any accomplishments. However, Izou is a person that keeps things bottled up, especially what he really feels and thinks, making him unreadable to his closed ones. He is the type to show his feelings through actions. Personality-wise, Izou appears to be aloof and unapproachable, but he is actually very amiable and does not discriminate against anyone in terms of status. His patience is remarkable as well, and rarely gets angry. In fact, when he gets angry, he becomes extremely quiet. One great flaw about him would be his bluntness when it comes to speech, pointing things out for what they are without any filter at all. History:
Izou is the older of twin siblings, and was raised in a rather well-off family. His parents are hardworking people, and with their effort, has managed to establish a sizeable business. All they expect from Izou and his twin brother, Ichiro, was for them to live a normal life and when they turn adults, to learn the business from them and take over the company. However, at a young age, Izou had always been fascinated with the way of the sword and with being an adventurer. As expected of any parents that would want their child to be safe, Izou's request to learn the sword and be an adventurer was vehemently denied. But he wasn't to be swayed so easily. Picking up his resolve at the age of fourteen, Izou ran away from home to pursue his own dreams.
Later on, after a series of events that led to Izou being saved by his would-be master, Izou was finally accepted as one of the pupils of a school of kenjutsu. The young man would throw himself fully into learning and training, slowly but surely perfecting his style of kenjutsu in the years to come. As he flourished into a master of the sword by the fifth year with his master and fellow students, the school was attacked and destroyed. Izou was the sole survivor, the only one left who managed to catch a glimpse of the attacker. He carries with him the burden of revenge, to avenge his master and his fellow students, to never put down his blade until he pays back this debt. Likes:
- Kenjutsu - Izou is hopelessly passionate about the art of the sword, and as long as he can wield his sword, he would never give up on it.
- Smoking - A bad habit that he picked up at a young age, Izou is a chain smoker and would almost normally be seen with a cigarette in his mouth. He gets a headache if he doesn't smoke for too long.
- Hoodie - The only piece of clothing that's constant with him, Izou likes it for its comfort.
- Being mistaken for a girl - Izou was born with soft features that makes him look like a girl at first glance, which he would typically react to with a death glare
- Arrogance - Izou does not take kindly to arrogant people. Although he wouldn't show any anger on his face, he would take things in hand with his sword
- Chocolate - He finds it too sweet for his liking.
What motivates Izou to do his best on an everyday basis comes down to three things: to realize his ambition of being the strongest swordsman no matter how long it takes, to take revenge for the murder of his master and his fellow students and to one day, return to his family and home with pride. Key Fear/Adversary:
While he is thoroughly determined to achieve his goal of being the strongest swordsman, Izou is also worried that his goal may be something that would take too long to reach. He has already sacrificed his family to step on this path, and he fears that he may have to sacrifice them again, to never see his family again before he reaches the end of this path due to his own stubbornness. He is afraid that one day when he has finally reached his dream of the strongest, there may no longer be anything or anyone to return to.
