Otenshire Details
Seeing Otenshire today would never betray its historical significance to Mirean people. Among the picturesque rolling hills of farmland dotted with modest stone and wood homes inhabited by hard-working people, one would never be able to tell that the Great Holy War's largest and bloodiest battle took place here. It was also the very last battle of the war, since the Battle of Otenshire was when the Gaiyans finally decided to get involved and put an end to the violence and negotiate a peace treaty. Once the fighting stopped and the time of peace came, the land healed its scars and life began anew. Farm animals graze the lands and things are slow here. The people are friendly and trusting, and most attend the local Fleuve'ir chapel at least once a week.
It's rumored that the lands, and the people, are so reliably fertile due to the Gaiyans' involvement that fateful last day of the war, and yet another rumor that the fires and bodies that littered the landscape enriched the soil for centuries to come. Whichever is the case, crops flourish here and the soil lends perfectly for growing the healthiest and largest fruits, vegetables, and farm animals. A lot of fresh ingredients come from Otenshire, so if you're looking for the best marketplace foodstuffs, this is the place to come.
Currently, the noble Winchester family oversees Otenshire. The Earl of Otenshire and his kin have an almost Gaiyan understanding of nature and what makes it grow. Due to their agricultural experience alone, they are held in very high regard in the farming town and rule it as firm but fair leaders.
