Baene is the kind of person that seems to be serious at most times, having no time for silly things such as happiness or relaxation. He is a man that is serious about his work and is willing to put his best foot forward in order to find a way back to his home of Kryptaphagus. He feel as though he lacks a purpose in this world and it scares him beyond believe. His intentions are to utilize the various resources offered at Rivengate to get back to the place where he was considered someone of important. He is an incredibly talented individual, despite his inability to take compliments.
He isn't a bad person, persay. But he lacks connections to the denizens of this world and it scares him a great deal. Especially given the fact that he was raised to rule, subjugate, conquer, delegate and play his Oud. He has never had any time to enjoy his life and has been, since coming to Vlydermire, He isn't the best in social situations, not understanding social norms due to being born as someone of great power and influence back in his home world. He is socially awkward and can across as aggressive due to his frustration with his situation. Given his past, he is also naturally angry.
He feels that until he has a reason to want to be in this world, that the best thing he could do would be to find a way to escape it at all costs. He is stubborn when it comes to having new experiences. But he can be won over by those persistent enough to bother. He distinct lack of most events that help shape a person as they grow has left him with a hidden desire to pursue these activities at his own leisure. Though once he sets his mind on a task, it takes a bit for him to get his mind off it. He is determined enough to be considered obsessive. He believes in courtship, but isn't very trustful of most.
Not even his fam as a musician in the new world has served to help him. As his pain seems to fuel his music creation without showing him any relief. When faced with enemies his entire personality seems to become like his music, a torrent of quick and relentless strums of aggression. He is known for pointing out the flaws in his enemies before showing them in a flashy manner how outclassed they are. He isn't someone that is arrogant, but he does have faith in his own abilities. He thinks of battle as a live concert and he feels that the further he gets in battle, the better off he ultimately becomes. (He is just a good fighter.)History
Baene IV, hails from another world known as Kryptaphagus which is an entire world that is a giant desert that has few pockets of water dotting the landscape. As it is essentially a giant desert, with civilizations being formed directly on these pockets of water, Baene's dynasty is styled after Egypt. His family ruled their lands for many generations, showing their citizens peace and prosperity with the neighboring cultures and successfully integrating modern real world technology with their mystical society. Baene III, Baene's father, was the only exception to this peaceful lifestyle. As he started a costly war with the neighboring kingdoms and found himself sending their nation of Sansala fall into debt. With a broken economy and broken citizens, many didn't mourn Baene III's passing.
Though he had only ever acted on the advice of his chief advisor and elder brother, Krio I.
Being raised by his uncle Krio I, Baene's life was rigid and hard. He spent most of his youth learning how to sing and play the Oud whenever he had free time, since the remainder of his time had been spent on being trained to think himself above all of those beneath his station. These lessons to make the young man become arrogant and spoiled never seemed to stick with the carefree boy. As he'd much rather write poems and songs about the beautiful women that came to visit his family for diplomatic reasons. An activity that often led to Baene being beaten. By the time that Baene was old enough to become the Pharaoh, he had grown into a shrewd, sheltered and aggressive leader. Though much to his uncle's surprise, Baene put his nation and his people before himself. Using his sheltered nature effectively to dig his nation out of debt.
Eventually his uncle would arrange for a marriage between Baene and a beautiful vixen by the name of Nar'ji. Baene was immediately smitten by the beauty and spent most of his free time trying to impress her, though nothing he seemed to do ever seemed to convince her to trust, let alone love him. Due to tensions with his neighboring civilizations, he found himself heading out on a three month campaign to quell the infighting. Leaving his disinterested wife alone at home. By the time he had returned, he had strengthened the alliance between the three nations and was looking to be considered a great ruler by his subjects. Unfortunately for Baene, he followed his uncle to the crypt in order to show respect to his father's death. Only to be stabbed in the heart by his wife and pushed into his father's sarcophagus.
It had turned out that Krio I had long since taken Nar'jj as his lover.
Fortunately, a radical sect of loyalists unearthed the truth of his death some many years later, heading to the crypt and finding his desiccated corpse. Through a powerful ritual they tied his lifeforce with dark magics and rose him from his dead slumber. He was whisked away from Sansala to bide his time and grow stronger, learning how to use his magics and learning the truth of what had happened to his home in his absence. It didn't take long before a gathering of likeminded individuals from across Kryptaphagus came together to rally against Krio I. But little did they know, he had great magics of his own. For over a thousand years the two sides would class all across the world. Until the faithful day in which Baene's forces were able to break into Sansala and he found himself facing off with Krio I.
Their battle was legendary, and lasted for several days and nights, but as Baene got the upper hand, knocking his uncle off balance and closing the distance so that he could deliver the death blow, ending a war that had cost so many lives and hurt so many people, he fell into a portal and arrived in a world that was not only foreign to him, but that had severely weakened his magical capabilities. Nearly dying from the experience, the former Pharaoh found himself waking in Rivengate, within a hospital. Needless to say, he was broken from this event. There was little he could due to sustain himself when he got out of the hospital. So he found himself playing Oud on the street for money, as it had been not only an object he always had on him, but the catalyst for all of his magic in general.
It took a few months for him to come to grips with the circumstances, before he sought out answers in the best place that was recommended to him. AURA. Figuring that they'd take him if he proved useful, he showcased his talents and found himself offered a role in the company. All he knew was that he had to get back home. He had to.Likes:

Despite the fact that he thinks that he wants to return to his home world, he'd much rather prefer to find a purpose for himself in this world besides being a great Oud player. He does not mind that his side-gig pays well, however. This world scares him, but also fascinates him.Key Fear/Adversary:
He fears never getting the chance to avenge his death at the hands of his closest advisor, his uncle. He feels as though he will never be able to repay all of the people who sacrificed their lives to try and help him regain his throne in his home world. So he feels he isn't worthy of making connections with people, as he'd only let them down in the end.
