The Monster Encyclopedia ZX17OcW

Here you can find all available lore on the sites monsters, the monsters you will encounter will depend on it's territory and the difficulty of the monster will determine the reward.

Monsters are essentially broken down into four categories of strength;

  • Weak
  • Strong
  • Elite
  • Legendary

Spawning Monsters in Quests

When Spawning Monsters in Quests, no more can five monsters can be spawned PER QUEST. This is not limited to per thread, however as as long as you have turned it the portion of the thread where the previous monsters have been spawned. You are welcome to spawn more monsters should you wish to.

Monsters spawned on Quests must follow these rank guidelines:
Novice Rank Quest =  Weak Monsters Only.
Apprentice Rank Quest = Either Weak Monsters , or 4x Weak Monsters, 1x Strong Monster.
Initiate Rank Quest =  Strong Monsters and/or lower .
Adept = Either All Strong Monsters and/or lower  OR 4x Strong Monsters, 1x Elite Monster.
Master = Elite Monsters or Below.
Elite = Either All Elite Monsters and/or lower OR 4x Elite Monsters, 1x Legendary.
Legendary = Legendary Rank Monsters and/or lower.

You can either choose to follow this system or you can use a Spawn Dice to roll a monster. If you choose to use the spawn dice and you roll higher monsters than you are permitted for that quest. It will automatically be lowered to the highest rank monster of that quest, not including any high rank monsters already rolled. For Example, You are doing an Adept Rank Quest and you roll: 3x Strong, 1x Elite and 1x Legendary, the Legendary monster will automatically be lowered to an Elite Rank monsters making it: 3x Strong and 2x Elite.

To use the Dice Roll System, you can find the tab underneath the Posting box, simply change the tab to Monster Spawner and change the number of Dice rolls to 5.

It should look like this:
The Monster Encyclopedia EqYxwgF

Monster Rarity
In terms of a monsters rarity, depending on their spawn rate, they will only appear in a thread so many times. The spawn rates are known as Common, Uncommon and Rare. The number of which you can spawn in a single thread/quest is as follows:

Common =  Unlimited
Uncommon = 2 Per Thread (+1 for Adept Quests and above)
Rare = 1 Per Thread (+1 Legendary Quests)

Monsters & Stats
Please note, whilst all the Monsters have been written with their own DMG and HP numbers, you do NOT have to use these. These are just for those who want to use the stat system, but for Statless players, these can be ignored.

Item Drops
In order to claim Item drops, players MUST use the Rarity Drop Dice. Change the Dice drop accordingly and list the number of drops equal ONLY to the number of monsters spawns that can drop items. For example if you spawn three slimes, and two Pikeeku's; you can only roll 3 times. (As Pikeekus don't drop anything but slimes do).

The drop dice should look like this;

WEAK MONSTERS

Weak Monsters are the easiest types of monsters that you will come across. It is much more likely that you will encounter a weak monster than a strong or elite monster, especially in areas populated more so by humans. These creatures are so weak that they are often ignored by the superior species, and will only attack when they feel threatened. Weaker adventures will often fight against weaker monsters to strengthen their abilities before they encounter monsters of a much riskier nature.

Their most legendary feature told by travelers and explorers who claim to have seen them is their unexplained invulnerability to all matters of fire and blazes – an old story goes that a certain Salamander was once found trapped inside a frequently used wood stove, but came waddling out in a panic a few days later without a single burn on its still wet, slimy skin. Can be tamed by keeping it close and letting it get used to oneself via bait - larvae, worms, maggots, beetles and other types of insects. These little pests are mostly common to farms. Barblings reproduce quickly and usually in the unlikeliest of places, making infestations quite common. They tend to be the cause for ruin in agriculture as their diet is mostly made up of fruits and vegetables, giving farmers a pretty big headache when it comes to dealing with them. Barblings are smaller creatures, normally not growing above a foot or two in height, but lengthwise can reach up to five feet if you include their tails. They’re very fast and skittish, preferring to run away as soon as anything approaches them. Yet a cornered Barbling will do go on the defensive by biting or whipping their long tails. Even if they run off, though, it’s only a matter of time until they return. Can't be tamed. The barbed legs and spiny spikes they drop are full of healthy vitamins from their diets, and thus make a good homeopathic remedy for colds and such, especially if dried and steeped as a tea. It tastes terrible, though.

Located:
Ilyanor, Viridia Overlook, Dionalor Plains, Hoptus Forest, Newdale

Common

Herbivore

Their fluffy bodies are great for transporting pollen and seeds out in the wild, making them great pollinators while they float about from flower to flower. They come in many different colors; big gatherings of them tending to look like a rainbow invasion of large cotton balls. Keep a lookout, however, as gatherings like these could signify the presence of rare flowers and other herbs. Floombas are simple-minded creatures and feeding them seeds will n ot only tame them, but also tends to result in the seeds being excreted with psychedelic properties. Because of their small size, Fairies are known to hitch rides on their backs if not keep one as their own form of transportation.

Killing Bonus : +10 EXP
Pet Skill : Floomba have no combat ability, but those that can shrink can use them as transportation, and those who can't can often find seeds in their colorful floof (and poo, if you are ok with that sort of thing) that have a variety of effects, though usually more of the psychedelic or mood-altering variety.

These creatures are highly territorial, and are quick to attack, striking quickly from both the water and the air. Ocean Wyberns while slightly more intelligent and dangerous than their Forest counterparts can still not be tamed, at least not with any known methods. SHRIKE
Located:
The Shambles, Avalon Islands, Dionalor Plains, Ilyanor

Spawn Rate:
Uncommon

Classification:
Carnivorous

Description:
Large for a bird, Shrikes are often used as companions and mail carriers. Standing about shoulder high on the average human, they can fly their masters short distances very quickly. Favored in the war for communications due to their heartiness, fearlessness, and ferocity, Shrikes were reliable both in battle and with tasks given to them. They are not naturally obedient, though. While widely able to be domesticated, do not make the mistake of thinking they will be friendly in the wild. They fear no man or beast and will attack if they feel threatened in any way. To tame one, any and all movements must be slow, words must be soft and quiet, a spike with fresh meat on it must be presented, and an arm must be carefully introduced as a perch (don't worry, they don't weigh a lot despite their size). With patience and effort, the bird will become comfortable and perch on the arm when they are tamed, but spook them and chances will be ruined for that Shrike. They will use their talons to thrash, their beaks to pierce, and their powerful wings to kick up whirlwinds to blow enemies away or pick up other debris to hurl at them or blind them. However, what they are most known for is picking up their prey and enemies to impale them on any sharp spike they can find to kill them and keep safe for later consumption. Shrike's attacks deal 50 DMG and they take 125 HP's worth of DMG to kill.

Killing Bonus : 100 EXP
Pet Skill : Strike
Combat Profile:

SOMBRA
Located:
Newdale, The Shambles, Sinhaven, Obsidian Isles, Engloria, Lyndon Port, Miriad

Spawn Rate:
Uncommon

Classification:
Carnivorous

Description:
Sometimes in the dark of the night it’s possible to hear the clacking of nails against pavement or the sound of an animal’s panting. These are usually the telltale signs of the Sombra—canines able to shift and blend their bodies among the shadows. With teeth and claws as black as obsidian, these creatures are near impossible to see in the dark. However, their unnaturally glowing eyes are the easiest way to spot them. Their ability to disperse and blend makes them difficult targets to eliminate, especially when found in packs. Lighting up an area and diminishing the amount of shadows seems to be the easiest way to deal with them as it would leave them exposed and unable to retreat. Like most canines, it can be tamed with meat and treats and lots of petting. If you're a monster and you kill one of these (or, okay, if someone sics a bunch of mean ones on you) they will drop obsidian claws that can be swallowed for temporary night vision, and tufts of black dog hair, which is a natural remedy for the worst hangovers.

Killing Bonus : +100 EXP
Pet Skill : Shadow Surprise Attack
Combat Profile:

WYVLING
Located:
Hoptus Forest, Ilyanor

Spawn Rate:
Uncommon

Classification:
Omnivore

Description:
Wyvlings are the much smaller, less hostile creatures in the Wyvern family. Unlike their legged, territorial counterparts, they rarely leave the sky, choosing the freedom of the clouds as their habitat where they can fly and sing endlessly. They can sleep while flying and eat other aerial creatures or the tops of tall trees. The only time they land unprompted is to reproduce, building nests in the highest trees of the tallest mountains for the safety of their eggs. Hatchlings immediately take flight and mother and her clutch will rejoin the skies together. They will only attack if anything gets near their nest. They take 175HP of DMG to kill and their attacks deal 175DMG. Otherwise they are quite skittish and will avoid combat at all costs. Their only weakness, which makes them tameable, is hearing the melody they sing in the skies played on a wooden flute. Should someone master their song and play it, a Wyvling in range will descend to sing along, thus bonding with the person.  From then on, when the melody is played, the tamed Wyvling will come and offer a ride on its back to its master and up to one other friend, flying them around. For this reason, there are a couple of Wyvling Travel businesses that have a few available for rent for faster travels for those with a lot of vigs, though taming one for yourself will save you money.

Killing Bonus : 100 EXP
Pet Skill: Playing a melody on a wooden flute will call the tamed creature. It abhors violence, so it will not help and cannot be used for combat nor will it descend near fighting of any kind no matter how much the flute is played. In peaceful times, however, it will gladly fly you and up to one other friend placed on their back. For now, they can only fly in the Mirinah region.

NIGHTMARE

Spawn Rate:
Rare

Classification:
Carnivore

Description:
When either a dark or light unicorn is corrupted beyond return their light coat turns black with rage, and the purifying energy they once produced turns evil and bursts into hellfire like threads of magic. Unlike Dark Unicorns these beings are not just hostile but are outright evil. These creatures are super rare naturally, though it is possible to force the transition of a unicorn into a nightmare with dark magic. They are extremely hostile, difficult to fight, and will run if in serious danger. Their horn is no longer useful, as their magic has been corrupted, but they make great battle tames. The only way to tame one however is to break it, either by having a tamed unicorn and using dark/evil magic (fourth tier magic or above) to corrupt one, or by chancing upon one in the wild and beating it in battle then forcing it to your will. Another 'lore' that comes with such creatures is unlike unicorns which are herbivores, Nightmares develop a taste for meat, and even eat creatures while they are still alive. Nightmare's take 400HP of DMG to kill and their attacks deal 225 DMG.

Killing Bonus :  300 EXP

Mystic Wyverns themselves are very magical beings, more than just beast their true nature is still very much unknown. While it is possible to tame a Mystic Wyvern is is very difficult, for it takes raising one from an egg stolen from a nest. The act of stealing an egg alone is difficult, but Mystic wyverns youth require a load off attention, plenty of food, and lots of entertainment or one risks the wyvern causing wanton destruction. The clan believed them to be avatars of the god they worshipped and as such, many Poca Boba can still be found with these armor gifts on their bodies today. They will still attack unfamiliar people that wander into their territory, acting as the first line of offense for Meglodyles, but they are tamable if captured and showered with shiny gifts and feasts like the tiny gods they still fancy themselves as. This frightening but intriguing creature will swoop down with bat-like wings to snatch foes up with bird talons, darting up into the air to try and drop them to their demise. Its horns flow with a magical light that allows it to visit darkness upon enemies and its sharp beak screeches loud enough to deafen. MEGLODYLE
Located:
Hoptus Forest

Spawn Rate:
Rare

Classification:
Carnivorous

Description:
The Meglodyle are truly massive reptiles that at times wander the swampy parts of northern Hoptus Forest. Nearly ageless, it's unknown how many of these creatures there are due to the fact that they can stay on the swampbed in a stasis-like condition for several human lifetimes if they choose. It's unknown how long they can go without eating, but when they do come up from the depths, they are hard to miss. In the water they look like mossy, jagged islands. On land, they make the average human look little bigger than mice by comparison. It may be slow, but that doesn't matter much when a monster is as big as this one. It deals damage by stomping, biting, and tail whipping, but it gets even more troublesome. These monsters also control the waters of the swamp to drown its enemies, creating a truly treacherous environment to fight in. A meglodyle's attacks deal 600 HP worth of DMG and it takes 2000 HP of DMG to kill, but is 2x weak to fire and ice magics. This monster can NOT be tamed.

Killing Bonus : 1100 EXP
